Pennsylvania Convention Center Hosts 195th Annual Philadelphia Flower Show
On Friday, March 1, 2024, a long line of individuals stood with excitement inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center eager to experience a preview of the 195th edition of the Philadelphia Flower Show, writes Hira Qureshi for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
This year’s theme is “United by Flowers.”
Staying true to that theme, visitors can experience 75,000 fresh-cut flowers, 15,000 plants, and 25 trees within a variety of colorful and intricate gardens.
The annual event features everything from exhibits to speaker sessions, after-hours programming, interactive activities, and numerous vendors.
“The theme ‘United by Flowers’ has been the emphasis and driving factor that’s made me successful as an individual in the industry,” said Joshua Johnson, co-owner of Black-owned custard company, Poppa’s Custard Co. and a returning vendor for the event. “Flowers are always there for us — they always make us cheerful.”
Chartel Findlater, founder of Gold + Water Co., is also a two-time vendor at the Flower Show.
As a vendor, she noted that she is happy to see “more representation from a diverse group of people.”
The 2024 Philadelphia Flower Show started on March 2, 2024, and will run through March 10, 2024.
