Comcast’s New Universal Studio Park in Florida Will Feature New Editions of Popular-Themed Areas
Universal Epic Universe, Comcast’s new in-construction Orlando, Florida, theme park, is set to feature new editions of some of the company’s popular Harry Potter and Super Nintendo-themed parks, writes Christopher Palmieri for Bloomberg.
The centerpiece of the attractions will be a landscaped area called Celestial Park with gardens and water features, as well as buildings that are inspired by astronomy and mythology.
It will be a gateway to four themed areas, which in addition to the Harry Potter and Super Nintendo, include How To Train Your Dragon, and another called Dark Universe.
This will be the third Universal Orlando park with a Harry Potter-themed area.
In addition, a new Nintendo attraction at the Los Angeles theme park has led to a surge in traffic there.
The hope is that these things will help this new theme park hit the ground running.
Epic Universe is scheduled to open in 2025, and will be Universal’s fourth theme park in the state of Florida.
Comcast has seen a boost in its revenue thanks to its theme parks, with the division reporting its most profitable fourth quarter and year earlier this year.
