Janesha Moore, who has earned more than $100,000 through affiliate marketing programs on Amazon and LTK, is preparing to launch a program that will help other diverse, BIPOC creators do the same, writes Shriya Bhattacharya for the Business Insider.

Moore was laid off in January 2023 from the position of global marketing project manager at a luxury watch company. The 27-year-old attempted to build up her career as a creator before she received a $540 check for affiliate commissions from Amazon four months later.

“Seeing that money really woke me up,” said the Philadelphia-based creator. “That’s when I seriously started strategizing and started doing a lot of research into affiliate marketing.”

Today, Moore has over 197,000 followers on Instagram and more than 83,500 followers on TikTok. She focuses on style, beauty, and self-care content and has managed to make $100,378 in the 12 months since she was laid off, most of it from affiliate marketing.

Now, she is launching The Strategic Influencer Academy to help close the gap between white and BIPOC creators by helping those in marginalized communities learn more about this income stream.
