Federal Donuts is Changing its Name, and Expanding to Las Vegas
As it embarks on a new period of growth, Philadelphia-based Federal Donuts will be opening its first location outside the region in 2024, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Early next year, Federal Donuts will be opening a new location inside the food court of Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition to its new non-Philly location, Federal Donuts will also be changing its name to Federal Donuts & Chicken to reflect its growth.
The chain is known for its creative selection of donuts, fried chicken, and coffee.
In recent years, it added fried, boneless chicken breast sandwiches, wings, and hand-battered chicken tenders to its menu. There is also the recently-added Donut Latte, made with steamed milk steeped with donuts and warm spices.
Founded by co-owners Michael Solomonov and Steve Cooks, Federal Donuts has been a Philly staple since opening its first location in South Philadelphia in 2011.
Today, there are 11 Federal Donut locations in the region.
This includes stands at Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center.
Its first location outside of Philly being set to open its doors in the coming months is an indication of Federal Donuts’ business success and growth.
