A Bookworm’s Delight: Staying at The Bookhouse Hotel in Kennett Square

By

The Bookhouse Hotel in Kennett Square is a cozy boutique hotel that also has thousands of books that guests can read or buy during their stay there, reports Bob Kelly for FOX29 Philadelphia.

“This used to be a bookstore,” said Stephen Tallon, co-owner of The Bookhouse Hotel. “We wanted to keep the theme.”

The property came with around 5,000 books. Stephanie Olenik, co-owner of The Bookhouse Hotel, used to love sustained silent reading when she was a child, so opening a hotel that is also a bookstore was a throwback to her childhood.

The hotel has four rooms, each with its own style and name, such as the writer’s den. And since it is only six minutes away from Longwood Gardens, the hotel has partnered with the popular attraction to offer lower ticket prices for guests.
