Owners of River Twice to Take Over Twenty Manning in Rittenhouse Square, Rename it Little Water
Amanda and Randy Rucker are the owners of the critically-acclaimed, River Twice, and will soon add a new restaurant to their portfolio in Twenty Manning, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Ruckers are taking over the Rittenhouse Square restaurant later this winter, calling it Little Water, and transforming it into a “contemporary coastal” restaurant that “celebrates the ecological diversity of life by the sea.”
Like River Twice, Little Water will share the concepts of sustainability, local sourcing, and seasonal ingredients.
“Mother Nature is at the forefront of everything we do,” The Ruckers said.
Twenty Manning has undergone several concept shifts since opening its doors in 2000, notably going from a stylish bar to an establishment of Southeast Asian fusion stylings to its current Middle Eastern-inspired menu.
According to owner Rob Wasserman, Twenty Manning will continue to operate until the liquor license is transferred, a process likely to take 45 and 60 days.
The Ruckers met in Houston before moving east in 2016 and getting married in Philadelphia. Both have experience in the culinary industry.
Randy is a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist for his work at Bootsie’s Heritage Cafe in his Tomball, Texas, hometown, while Amanda is the designer responsible for River Twice.
