Holy Family University Hosts Bucks County Industrial Development Authority’s First Annual Economic Outlook
Holy Family University hosted the First Annual Economic Outlook sponsored by the Bucks County Industrial Development Authority (BCIDA) on Jan. 24 at Holy Family’s Newtown East campus location.
The event, a collaboration between BCIDA and Startup Bucks, included a keynote address by Timothy Chubb, Chief Investment Officer at Girard, who reviewed recent history and projections for U.S. growth, the labor market, and inflation. Holy Family University President Anne Prisco joined BCIDA Chairman Steve Marzullo, Regional President at C&N Bank Blair Rush, local entrepreneur Tom Krol, and Director of Research at CBRE Joe Gibson in a panel discussion on trends in the Bucks County business community and strategies to attract, educate, train, and retain the workforce to grow both productivity and profitability.
“Holy Family is honored to be hosting this event in Bucks County,” Dr. Prisco said in welcoming a room full of local business leaders. “Over the last two and a half years since I joined Holy Family, the university’s footprint has continued to grow in Bucks County. A third of our students, faculty, and staff live in Bucks County. As we expand in the region and continue to develop new programs — in healthcare, cybersecurity, bio-manufacturing, life sciences, and technology — we are also giving thought to how we structure these courses, including certificate programs, and how we train both traditional students and adult learners to meet the demands of the workforce.”
