The African American Museum of Bucks County is moving forward with plans to establish its new permanent home at Boone Farm, a historic property in Middletown Township, according to a staff report from the Langhorne Ledger.

The museum has been granted a 30-year lease for the property at $1 a year by the Bucks County Commissioners. The county has also provided funding for the construction and renovation works as well as for essential infrastructure improvements.

However, the museum is still looking for $2 million in community support this year to fully realize its potential as a vibrant cultural hub.

To achieve this, the museum has launched a Commemorative Recognition Program and is inviting companies and individuals to play a major role in achieving its mission.

The program offers supporters a chance to buy engraved bricks or stone pavers and with it literally pave the way to history. Opportunities for sponsor rooms, hallways, or spaces named after the donor are also available for larger donations.

The funds will cover architect costs, a state-of-the-art media center, and essential staffing, among various other things.
