PECO’s Nicole LeVine, Visit Philly’s Angela Val Named Among 2023 Women of Influence

For 30 years, the Philadelphia Business Journal has selected a number of women for their annual Women of Influence honor for their professional accomplishments, writes Lisa Dukart for the publication.
Each year, the women selected for this list are those who have displayed a source of strength and resilience to blaze trails for themselves and others.
Among this year’s honorees is Nicole LeVine, the first woman to serve as senior vice president and chief operating officer at PECO.
As someone who has had to climb her way up the corporate ladder for the region’s largest electric and natural gas company, she has also served as an advocate, mentor and role model for other women in STEM.
“I make mentoring a priority for women at various career levels, including young students interested in the utility industry,” she said.
Angela Val is another one of this year’s Women of Influence.
Last year, she became the first Black woman to lead Visit Philadelphia as its President and CEO. Leading the organization stands as her proudest career achievement.
Her goals in the role are clear.
“I want to make Philadelphia a cleaner city … I want to work with others to create a more connected region,” said Val.
