Holy Family University to Offer Free English as a Second Language Classes to Immigrant Communities
Holy Family University’s Center for Academic Enhancement and Office of Mission and Diversity are pleased to announce the continuation of free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for immigrants in the community.
The classes, offered in-person on the University’s Northeast campus, located at 9801 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia, as well as online, have been expanded beyond just the Ukrainian population that they serviced last year.
“We are no longer just limiting our enrollment to newly-arrived Ukrainians, but are extending offers to our other immigrant sisters and brothers, as our campus has welcomed students this summer from Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Hong Kong, Columbia and other countries,” said Center Director Dennis Millan.
The fall schedule will include:
- Diagnostic Test: Sept. 27, 4 – 6 PM – Main floor – University Library
- In-Person Class: Oct. 11 – Nov. 20, Monday and Wednesday, 5 – 7 PM in the CTL Seminar Room on the Second Floor of the University Library
- Online Class: Oct. 3 – Dec. 14, Tuesday and Thursday, 6 – 7 PM
Registration is required and space is limited.
