Haverford Systems Provides Key Tech Upgrades for Lafayette Hill-Based Nonprofit with National Footprint
In a collaboration aimed at furthering organizational efficiency, Haverford Systems recently completed a technology overhaul of an executive boardroom and three additional meeting spaces at Merakey, a nonprofit headquartered in Lafayette Hill that provides developmental, behavioral health, and education services.
“I’ve been here for seven years, and Haverford Systems has always been a part of our group of trusted vendors,” said Ed Witchey, the Senior Director of Merakey’s IT Project Management Office. “A word that describes them is patience. A lot of vendors come in and try to move right to the invoice, so they can get paid.”
The mainstay of the upgrade is the executive boardroom, which now features three commercial Samsung displays. An Extron control system allows seamless control over multiple room functions, including the ability to reveal a large commercial display behind a movable wooden wall. These improvements aim to aid in efficient and effective decision-making, a crucial aspect for an organization with 8,000 employees who provide support to nearly 40,000 individuals in 12 states across the country each year.
Additionally, the room now boasts Zoom Room capabilities for more expansive, virtual engagements.
“Admittedly, we don’t always know exactly what we want, and Haverford recently spent the better part of six to nine months here, showing us different technology, giving us time to do our research,” Witchey said. “They’re not trying to come in to immediately get us on an invoice. They’re trying to provide solutions.”
Extending beyond the boardroom, three other spaces have also been equipped with commercial displays and video conferencing facilities, optimized for Zoom Rooms.
With more than 30 years in the industry, Haverford Systems is the Philadelphia region’s most experienced company to turn to for audiovisual installation. Its team of expert designers and installers create a thorough plan based on each client’s unique needs.
“We take the time to understand a client’s technological needs and communicate the best options for them,” said R.T. Chalfant, an Integration Sales Account Manager at Haverford Systems. “Choosing the right solution is sometimes overwhelming, so we want to make sure our customers truly grasp the potential of each piece of technology and how it can maximize their workflow.”
