To create stability after going through several leaders in the last few years, Girard College has tapped industry veteran David Hardy for the position of interim president, writes Lisa Dukart for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Hardy, who is the co-founder and former CEO of the Boys’ Latin Charter School in West Philadelphia, took over in mid-April and will remain in the role for the foreseeable future.

Other than stability, Hardy has big plans for the future for the five-day boarding school for students in grades 1 through 12.

“The thing that I wanted to do was let people know that we’re going to address issues at the school that are going to make it a better place to work and to attend,” he said.

Some of the changes that were already implemented are combining academics and residential staff.

“Before, they were under separate management and so it was like the students have one set of rules from the beginning of the day until 3:30 PM, and then another set of rules and a whole different operation in the second half of the day,” said Hardy.
