Comcast’s Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular Finds New Home at FDR Park
The annual Comcast Spectacor’s “Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular presented by Dietz & Watson” will move from Montgomery County to FDR Park in South Philadelphia for its third iteration, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
“As one of our city’s most diverse, culturally vibrant public spaces, FDR Park is the perfect place to make memories and gather with loved ones,” said Orlando Rendon, the interim commissioner of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, which manages FDR Park.
The joyful winter celebration will take place from November 17 to January 1. It will feature light sculptures and displays that will be powered by over 1.2 million light bulbs, along with various holiday-themed activities and activations.
The event is being produced by Comcast Spectacor’s Spectacor Events & Entertainment division, which hosts live events throughout greater Philadelphia.
The third annual Tinseltown will have the same offerings from previous years but they will be in a brand new layout. The light displays will showcase some of Philadelphia’s popular landmarks and personalities and also feature a 60-foot light tunnel and Santa’s sleigh.
More info on new experiences visitors can expect to see will become available in the coming months.
