Philadelphia celebrity barber Kenny Duncan has paired with other hair stylists through Barbers Who Care to provide free back-to-school haircuts to local boys and young men, reports Aunyea Lachelle for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

“Growing up with low self-esteem, a haircut gave me nine points of confidence,” said Duncan. “It helped me feel good about myself, which allowed me to be present in the moment for whatever it is I’m doing.”

Duncan owns Main Attraction unisex salon in West Philadelphia. He has worked with many stars, including Michael B. Jordan, Zayn Malik, and Joel Embiid. He’s also the official barber of the 76ers.

Once he had achieved success in his career, he wanted to empower other young men to do the same the best way he knew how. As a successful barber, he wanted to give back.

He founded Barbers Who Care 14 years ago. Every year, the organization hosts a back-to-school drive. Nearly 30 barbers get together to cut the hair of close to 300 boys from ages 5 to 18.

This year’s drive will take place on Sunday at West Philadelphia YMCA.
