Wells Fargo Consolidating Its Office Space in Philadelphia Because of ‘Hybrid Work Schedule’
Wells Fargo Bank is planning to leave its nine floors in the Philadelphia Plaza building at Independence Mall and consolidate its space in Philadelphia at offices in Two Logan Square and Commerce Square, writes Jake Blumgart for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
“We have more real estate than we need to support our current employee count in Philadelphia given our hybrid work schedule and the flexibility that we offer now after COVID,” said Elise Corbett, Wells Fargo spokesperson.
The company did not disclose how many employees would be affected by the move.
Corbett said there will be no layoffs related to this decision, no displacements of jobs outside of Philadelphia, or changes to the company’s hybrid schedule that allows employees to work three days in the office and two days at home.
The company, which already has office space at Two Logan, will consolidate its presence around West Market.
“This [move] gives us a chance to have fresh space,” said Corbett. “There are fitness centers on-site. New state-of-the-art training and meeting facilities. Different views of the Parkway, when we’re used to looking over Independence Mall.”
