Chase Anderson, who came up with the idea for Da Cooler Boyz when he was just six years old, is probably the area’s youngest and coolest “CEO,” writes Tom Kretschmer for 6abc.

Chase was walking home from school in North Philadelphia after a hot day and asked his mother to take a short detour to get some water ice. On the way back, he was already considering making his own.

Two years later, he was running Da Cooler Boyz with the help of his brother Sebastian and mother Breonna.

“It makes me feel so good to give people water ice,” said the eight-year-old.

His mother ensures to give all the credit to Chase.

“It kept him up at night, all he talked about,” she said. “So after playing around with mixes and flavors, the next thing I know he’s setting up and selling water ice outside.”

His ice water is so popular that the business has 800 bookings set up this year for camps, schools, parades, and food drives.

They will also host their own back-to-school drive in late August where Da Cooler Boyz will offer free school supplies and tasty treats.
