Philadelphia Ranks High Among Business Districts with the Most Co-working Spaces
Philadelphia has ranked in fifth place based on the most co-working spaces in central business district locations, writes Balazs Szekely for CoworkingCafe.
The majority of significant central business districts can be found on the East Coast, including New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia, according to a recent report by the nationwide employment-trend analysis blog.
Its study ranked the top 20 cities in the U.S. with the highest concentrations of flexible office spaces in their core business sectors.
The City of Brotherly Love came in fifth, with 28 downtown co-working spaces, which is 68 percent of the city’s inventory.
Since the central business district in Philadelphia is geographically bound by two rivers (as well as contained by residential neighborhoods), it is no surprise that the majority of flex office spaces would be located in this area.
Still, it only leaves 13 co-working spaces outside of the central business district area.
This means that most of northern and northeastern Philadelphia continue to be largely underserved.
